The highly anticipated first flight of the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) went off without a hitch earlier this week in Japan. The flight, which was approximately an hour and a half in duration, reached speeds of up to 174 miles an hour and altitudes of up to 15,000 feet. GoJet’s parent company, Trans States Holdings (TSH), is the domestic launch customer for the MRJ, with 50 firm orders and another 50 on option.
The MRJ comes in two versions–one that seats 70 passengers and one that seats 90. Some of the notable features of the MRJ include increased fuel-efficiency, lower noise levels and a spacious interior layout that maximizes passenger customers.

On a beautiful Saturday in October, employees from around the country gathered in St. Louis to celebrate GoJet’s 10th anniversary. The family-friendly party offered something for everyone, including food, music, face painting, pumpkin decorating, a balloon artist and inflatables. GoJet employees and their families had a blast enjoying the wonderful weather and camaraderie–even our COO, Terry Basham, was spotted on the inflatables (see if you can spot him in the below photos!).
The event culminated with a check presentation to the Missouri Military Memorial Foundation, a 501(c) non-profit raising funds to erect a memorial monument to Missouri servicemen and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty in the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The organization was founded by Chris Andrews, the mother of Sergeant Amanda Pinson, a servicewoman killed in action in 2006. Sergeant Pinson is the niece of St. Louis employee Sandy Campbell. Sandy and Chris were both on hand to accept GoJet’s $5,000 donation.
The party in St. Louis was the last of the festivities commemorating GoJet’s 10 year anniversary–in the weeks prior, the leadership team had a great time celebrating with crews in RDU, ORD, LGA and DEN. Here’s to the next 10 years!
The leadership team continued the 10th Anniversary fall Meet and Greets this week, with stops in ORD and DEN. These bi-annual visits are an important tool that the leadership team uses to get feedback directly from our front-line employees. Thanks to everyone who was able to stop by the crew rooms to chat or took a few moments to catch up with the team in the terminal. Thanks for helping end the 10th Anniversary celebration on a high note!
Here’s to the next 10 years!
The leadership team had a great time visiting with MX and crews in RDU and LGA during the first round of fall Meet and Greets last week! They also continued the 10th anniversary celebration, with a party in the RDU crew room and special treat bags for crews. This week the leadership team is visiting crews and MX in DEN and ORD–pics to follow soon!
One of the best things about working at an airline is getting to visit a ton of cool places. We love hearing about crews who use layovers as an opportunity to hang out with co-workers and do some sight-seeing. Thanks to Michael Troxell for sharing this awesome picture taken at Mt. Rushmore! Here’s a little background he provided as to what went into getting this shot:
Recently, my crew and I worked a DEN-RAP flight. We were originally scheduled to be in a little after 9:00 pm and had a rental car reserved to go see Mt. Rushmore. Unfortunately, we were running late. Luckily, the park was open until 11:30 pm, and with the car already rented and ready to go, we weren’t going to miss our opportunity to see the historical monument! We hopped into the car, uniforms and all, and went directly from the airport to the park. We arrived at the park a little after 10:30 pm and found that we were the only ones there. With a little help from a trash can and a timer, we were able to prop up a camera and get this shot of our crew with the famous faces!
Teamwork and camaraderie, even after hours! We have the best employees out there!
Thanks to Te’quan Keaton for passing along this great crew pic!
