Crew Question: What hobbies or activities have you picked up while working on reserve?

“Refreshing my cell phone!” Hao Hao Zhuge, DEN FA
"Home reserve for me truly means at home. When I’m not checking my phone and Flica app every 4 ½ minutes like a crazy person usually my activities involve exciting household chores like laundry and emptying out the diaper pail. When I’ve had enough fun with that and weather permitting I take my dog for a long walk at Tower Grove Park and maybe head over to Tower Grove South for a break at Hartford Coffee Company or the London Tea Room. I am a member at the Missouri Botanical Garden so that means free admission and I like to find a nice quiet place, one of my favorites is the Chinese Garden, and read. Sassafras café offers great salads for lunch….uh oh crew scheduling is calling I guess I’ll take it to go." Marnie Alcock, STL CA

“I found out four months ago that my family will be growing! Since then, my reserve time and hobbies consist of anything baby! I have prenatal workouts, and I’m addicted to Pinterest … finding crafts to do for the baby. I’m going crazy waiting to find out whether it’s a boy or girl so my real planning can begin, and I can really start creating things. Now that it’s getting warmer I go for walks a lot and sit outside and read, whether it’s my baby books or crime novels, or writing in the “belly book” my mom and dad bought me.” Kaleigh Kolodzie, RDU FA
“While on reserve, I read more and honed in on skills like trying to learn a new language and about other cultures. I also exercised more and took advantage of down time while waiting. It wasn’t always easy waiting around as I was eager to work!!” Mary Kosciulek, DEN FA
“When I’m on reserve I do photo walks in nature, and I’m studying to learn Spanish!” Mylene Rivera, RDU FA
“I’ve been running more, finding a place to play/practice piano, and visiting fun places around Denver like the art museum and the downtown aquarium!” Sarah McGrath, DEN FA
